The best and the finest Filipino box-office blockbuster hits that has
captured the hearts and minds of local movie buffs and captivated them through the
years are slated to reach a wider binge-watching audience as they will become
available on the well-known and globally-renouned online video on-demand
streaming service Netflix in the coming months, and kicking it all off was the
critically acclaimed historical drama flick Heneral Luna.
Released on All Saints' Day, the movie revolves around the intensely
gruelling Philippine American War and features the life and times of arguably
the most ruthless Filipino general during its time, Antonio Luna (played by
John Arcilla). Directed by Jerrold Tarog under Artikulo Uno Productions, Heneral
Luna steadily gained traction in the local box office and became the
highest-grossing Filipino indie film during its time.
After Heneral Luna, slated to become available on Netflix are Reality
Entertainment's action movie stalwart Buy Bust starring Anne Curtis and ONE
world heavyweight champion Brandon "The Truth" Vera (November 15th), the
highest-grossing Filipino indie film of all time today Kita Kita which is set
in Sapporo, Japan and features the tandem of Empoy Marquez and Alessandra de
Rossi (November 16th) and Star Cinema's Beauty and the Bestie starring phenomenal
stars Vice Ganda and Coco Martin (November 26th).
