Sony PlayStation Classic

It has only been a few weeks since the Sony PlayStation Classic was officially introduced which has delighted retro gaming enthusiasts and fans of the original PlayStation console from around the world and eventually made them feel ecstatic about its impending arrival. Now, Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed a full lineup of games that will be included in the retro-centric gaming system prior to its December release.

Tekken 7, Final Fantasy VII, R4: Ridge Racer Type 4, Wild Arms and Jumping Flash! were the first to be part of the PlayStation Classics 20-game lineup during the system's announcement. Joining them are Battle Arena Toshinden, Intelligent Qube, Metal Gear Solid, Mr. Driller, Revelations: Persona, Resident Evil: Director's Cut and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. These games will be common in the North American and European variations of the console as well as its Japanese variation.

North American and European PlayStation Classic owners can get their hands full on playing the likes of Cool Boarders 2, Destruction Derby, Grand Theft Auto, Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey, Rayman, Syphon Filter, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Twisted Metal. On the other hand, Japanese gamers will be treated to a more exciting bevy of exclusive games featuring Arc The Lad I and II, Armored Core, G-Darius, Gradius Gaiden, Parasite Eve, Xi (officially known in NA/PAL as Devil Dice) and SaGa Frontier.

The announcement of the PlayStation Classic's full 20-game lineup received an overwhelming amount of mixed reception from gaming communities and retro gaming buffs. While most are satisfied by what they have learned, there are those who have expressed their objection considering that some of their favorites from the original console's wide library of games are not included to their own surprise and dismay. Regardless of the reception, the Sony PlayStation Classic is one retro-centric gaming system that is worth the nostalgia and anticipation once it becomes available in gaming stores worldwide before Christmas.
