There
are unique times when an ordinary Filipino is recognized for his exemplary good
deeds and eventually becomes an inspiration for others to do better, and one
who works as a luggage boy in one of Lipa City's major shopping malls is no
exception. Christian "Xian" Tecson, a sales clerk at SM City Lipa, has
been recognized by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP)
for his own inspiring video that went viral on social media.
His
enthusiastic sales spiel became the center of attention when it was captured by
two customers - Nala Zamora and Bren Alcazar - and uploaded on Facebook in the
middle of the year where it was viewed four million times. Esquire Philippines,
the local version of the renouned US-based men's lifestyle magazine, took interest
on the viral spiel and stated that though Tecson may be talented and charming
but he is neither afraid, embarrassed or self-conscious to show off a wonderful
piece of luggage and enjoy every second of it.
True
enough, the viral video featuring Tecson literally fits the criteria of the recently-concluded
PMAP Makatao Awards 2018 which recognized media outlets, programs and personalities
that have been tantamount in telling and sharing stories about people
management. In the awards night that was held last November 28, 2018 at the
Sofitel Harbor Garden Tent in Pasay City, Tecson was handed the Video That
Inspire People (VIP) award for his overwhelming attitude and charm on his duty
as a sales clerk through the viral video.
