ABS-CBN Corporation, the premiere media and entertainment company in
the Philippines, continues to earn the trust of Filipino consumers as it
received its fourth consecutive Platinum Brand Award from Reader's Digest Asia's
prestigious Trusted Brands Awards. The said award given to the network is given
to brands that have performed exceptionally and winning their respective
categories through a score that vastly outpolled its competition.
Since its inception in 1998, the Reader's Digest Asia Trusted Brands Awards
has sought to discover the preference and standards of consumers in purchasing
a product or subscribing to a service through communicating with consumers who
can vouch for each of the brand's quality. Thousands of Filipinos across the
country were surveyed to rate different brands in 50 categories of products and
services across a broad range of industries based on their trustworthiness and credibility,
quality, value, understanding of customer needs, innovation and social
responsibility. 2019 marked the ninth consecutive year that ABS-CBN was formally
acknowledged for earning the consumers' trust considering that they recognize the
company's commitment to serve Filipinos everywhere with high quality content,
innovative experiences and engaging public service programs.
Meanwhile, several ABS-CBN personalities have also earned higher trust
ratings which made them win in various categories. Long-time TV Patrol anchor and
veteran broadcast journalist "Kabayan" Noli De Castro won Most
Trusted TV News and Public Affairs Presenter while fellow TV Patrol and DZMM Radyo
Patrol Balita Sa Umaga anchor Ted Failon was hailed as Most Trusted Radio
Presenter. On the other hand, majority of Filipino respondents chose Asia's
Phenomenal Star and It's Showtime and Gandang Gabi Vice host Vice Ganda as Most
Trusted Entertainment/Variety Presenter.
Other brands which have also earned the trust of Filipino consumers and
were given the Platinum Brands Award include SM Supermalls, online shopping
site Lazada, Acer, and Samsung among others. More than 8,000 individuals across
five of Asia's key markets - Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and
Taiwan - have participated in the survey conducted by one of the region's most
read publications to date for the 2019 edition. For more information, visit rdasiatrustedbrands.com.
