ABS-CBN's newest reality singing competition Search For The Idol
Philippines debuted strongly on Easter Sunday (April 21) as not only the most
watched television show in the country on the said day but also the fastest
among all ABS-CBN shows to reach the 100,000 subscriber mark on YouTube in less
than 18 hours after the premiere episode's airing on the small screens. Highly
regarded to be the most successful Idol franchise in Philippine television
today, the show will soon receive the coveted Silver Creators Award from
YouTube for achieving a major milestone in such a short span of time and that
is pretty impressive beyond expectation.
The show further proved its online prowess as the performance of Idol
Philippines hopeful Angie Kristine became the number one trending video on
YouTube in the Philippines garnering more than 1.8 million views a day after it
was uploaded. Overall, four clips featuring the performances of the show's
first Idol Philippines hopefuls have collectively reached a total of six
million views on the video sharing site in just 24 hours. The show also made
waves on social media as its official hashtag for its pilot episode
#IdolPhilippines and related topics including #IdolPHJudgeRegineV, #IdolPHJudgeVice,
#IdolPHJudgeMoira, #IdolPHJudgeJames and the names of the Idol hopefuls have secured
spots in the list of top trending topics on Twitter.
Meanwhile, many Filipino netizens were quick to share their excitement
for the show's premiere and have eventually posted praises for the judges and
the contestants. On the other hand, the premiere episode of Search For The Idol
Philippines scored a national TV rating of 30.6% which is 17.4 points higher than
its rival program based on data from Kantar Media. And this is just the beginning
as the judges will sift through more idol hopefuls in the coming weeks and
determine which of them deserve to head to Idol City and pursue their dreams.
Find out who among many hopefuls can make the cut and go to Idol City
as the Search For The Idol Philippines continues every Saturday night after
Home Sweetie Home and Sunday after Hiwaga Ng Kambat only on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN
