Screams and cheers were heard within the four corners of the multi-purpose
building of the Lyceum of the Philippines University - Batangas as hundreds of students
and members of the academic community have anticipated the arrival of the main
stars of ABS-CBN's top-rating daytime drama series Kadenang Ginto also known as
Team Gold for the 2019 Golden Laurel Media Awards where ABS-CBN, the most
watched television network in the Philippines, received another nod of approval
from academic communities in different parts of the country and its fourth Best
TV Station Award in 2019.
One of local television's biggest sleeper hits of 2019, Kadenang Ginto
was able to win its first award in the Golden Laurel Media Awards for Best
Daytime Drama Series and receiving the award is no less than Team Gold comprising
of Beauty Gonzales, Dimples Romana, Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz and Kyle Echarri
which eventually thanked the Batangueño students for the said achievement. Meanwhile,
the recently concluded hit primetime drama series Halik was a big winner
garnering two awards which include Best Primetime Drama Series and Best TV
Actor for Jericho Rosales.
The number one television show in the Philippines, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano,
is not one to be left out as Jhong Hilario and Susan Roces have won Best TV Supporting
Actor and Actress for their exemplary and outstanding portrayals that have
captured the hearts of the Filipino masses. Another big winner is Asia's phenomenal
star Vice Ganda who won Best Celebrity Talk Show Host for his top-rating Sunday
late night talk show Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV) which happens to win Best
Celebrity Talk Show. On the other hand, three of the network's flagship shows -
It's Showtime, Maalaala Mo Kaya and TV Patrol - were hailed as Best Entertainment
Program, Best Drama Anthology and Best News Program, respectively.
