The Nintendo Gameboy revolutionized the handheld gaming market when it
was first introduced and released in 1989 and has eventually sold 118 million
units making the system among the best-selling of all time, and one of its best
games is The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening which was a follow-up spinoff to
A Link To The Past for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Now, the
legendary handheld adventure makes its return with a new look and a new flavor
for a new generation of gamers as the newly remastered Link's Awakening comes
to the Nintendo Switch on September 20, 2019.
Following the events of A Link To The Past, Link was washed ashore on a
mysterious island named Koholint filled with strange and colorful inhabitants.
To escape the island, Link must collect musical instruments scattered across the
land and awaken the Wind Fish. Old and new fans of the game will explore a reimagined
Koholint Island faithfully rebuilt in a brand new art style that they would
surely love, interact with unique locals that will help Link on his adventure
and encounter enemies such as Goombas and Piranha Plants from the Super Mario
series to conquer numerous dungeons and uncover the island's hidden secrets.
Clearing dungeons throughout the main story will have you get a chance
to earn chambers or dungeons rooms and arrange them to a custom layout of your
liking in the all new Chamber Dungeon mode. Place your dungeon entrance,
Nightmare room and everything in between as you try to fulfill objectives and
play through a new dungeon. Furthermore, players can use compatible Amiibos and
even play mini-games such as river rapids and fishing to earn more dungeons
throughout the game.
