ONE Championship, the largest mixed martial arts organization and most
valuable sports property in Asia, is gearing up for its historic 100th blockbuster
event dubbed ONE Century on October 13, 2019 in Tokyo, Japan featuring seven
world title bouts split into two events and two of the largest major television
networks in the Philippines are making it available to Filipino fight fans
through their respective sports arms via multiple media platforms.
ONE Century will feature five Filipino warriors led by ONE heavyweight
world champion Brandon "The Truth" Vera setting to compete inside the
Ryogoku Kogukikan stadium with some of the best fighters and athletes from around
the world. ABS-CBN Sports and ESPN5 will deliver the action via live streaming on
iWant, sports.abs-cbn.com, ESPN5.com, and the official Facebook and YouTube
pages of ABS-CBN Sports and ESPN5 with Part 1 airing at 8 am and Part 2 starting
at 4 pm. On the other hand, ESPN5 will broadcast Part 1 live starting at 10:30
am while Part 2 will be aired live on ABS-CBN S+A and S+A HD beginning at 6:30
pm with immediate replay at 9:30 pm which will also be on ESPN5 as well. Part 1
on S+A will be aired on October 18 at 8:30 pm.
Headlining the morning card will be the women's atomweight title bout
between the reigning title holder Angela "Unstoppable" Lee of Singapore
and women's strawweight titlist China's "The Panda" Xiong Jing Nan.
Team Lakay's Danny "The King" Kingad is ready to take on the biggest fight
of his MMA career as he faces 12-time flyweight world champion and arguably one
of the greatest MMA fighters of all time Demetrious "Mighty Mouse"
Johnson for the ONE flyweight world grand prix championship. Meanwhile, all the
fireworks are set for the main events of the evening card as ONE heavyweight
world champion Brandon "The Truth" Vera hopes to become a two-division
world champion by aiming for the ONE light heavyweight title currently held by
two-division world champion and Myanmar's favorite son Aung La N Sang.
Aside from Vera vs. N Sang, Filipino fight fans will witness the finale
of the showdown between Bibiano Fernandes and Kevin "The Silencer"
Belingon which was stopped midway in Manila. It is the golden opportunity for
one of Team Lakay's finest stars to make the most of splitting after two of
their matches leading to the controversial third ending and regain the ONE bantamweight
world championship title. For Fernandes, it is a chance to quash any doubts
about his reign in the bantamweight division. Also figuring in separate bouts carrying
the Philippine flag are former ONE world champion Honorio "The Rock"
Banario and rising star Lito Adiwang, both from Team Lakay, facing Japanese
grappling legend Shinya Aoki and Senzo Ikeda, respectively.
Ahead of ONE Century, ABS-CBN S+A has begun airing the "Road To
Century" specials featuring the battles of the fighters who will headline
ONE Century considering that the sports arm of the premiere media and entertainment
company in the Philippines has been with ONE Championship all the way since the
promotion began penetrating the Philippine market. Catch these specials on
October 6 starting at 9 pm on S+A and S+A HD featuring the Flyweight World Grand
Prix Championship Finals, Lightweight World Grand Prix Championship Finals,
Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Championship Finals and four
highly-anticipated ONE World Championship fights.
