Primetime viewing on GMA News TV becomes more relevant and exciting as GMA Public Affairs' internationally award-winning documentary, magazine and public affairs programs add prestige to the channel with the Power Block. Airing weeknights at 9:15 pm after New Normal: The Survival Guide, the Power Block brings together highly-acclaimed shows that are used to air on GMA 7's Late Night strip namely Front Row, Alisto, Tunay Na Buhay, Reporter's Notebook and I-Witness.

Kicking off the lineup of eye-opening shows is the documentary program Front Row. Airing every Monday, Front Row features stories that are told from a first-person point of view which is an interesting departure from the host-driven documentaries usually seen on television. On Tuesdays, GMA News and Public Affairs pillar Arnold Clavio leads the public service show Alisto featuring stories from actual videos of people faced with different life-threatening situations as well as the latest modus operandi and stories on crime and safety with the purpose of reminding viewers to be always alert.

Meanwhile, Tunay Na Buhay takes over Wednesday nights. Helmed by award-winning broadcast journalist Pia Arcangel, Tunay Na Buhay celebrates the triumphs of the human spirit through inspiring stories of people from all walks of life. On Thursday comes the investigative program Reporter's Notebook hosted by Maki Pulido and Jun Veneracion. Through the years, Reporter's Notebook has brought significant issues to the attention of the viewing public. Many of these stories have even caught the attention of the local authorities after they were tackled in the show.

Rounding off the Power Block is the Philippines' longest-running and most critically-acclaimed weekly documentary program I-Witness. Every Friday, I-Witness hosts led by GMA News and Public Affairs pillars Howie Severino, Sandra Aguinaldo, Atom Araullo and Kara David share life-changing stories through the documentary format featuring Filipino values, culture, current events and human condition. GMA News TV viewers can never go wrong with these shows after a day of learning how to embrace and adjust to the new normal. Heck, if I were you owning a GMA Affordabox, then I suggest you record these shows on time and watch them the next day so you can't miss a beat on these eye-opening affairs.
