Old, New Faces Win GR Supra GT Cup Asia PH Second Round

A mix of old and new names has filled the winners' list of the second round of the GR Supra GT Cup Asia Philippines, the national virtual motorsports program of Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) where hundreds of players from different parts of the country participating from their own homes using Toyota's flagship sports car, the GR Supra, on the tracks of the Autopolis International Racing Circuit via Gran Turismo Sport on the PlayStation 4.
After the qualifying rounds and the finals heat, it was first round winner Luis Moreno and virtual podium newcomer JB Soriano who have dominated the second round in the Sporting and Promotional classes, respectively. In the Sporting Class, joining Moreno on the podium are second placer Miguel San Mateo and third placer Terrence Lallave who both happen to be first-time finishers. On the other hand, in the Promotional Class, Soriano zoomed past first round third placer Lance Guballa, who finished second, and second placer Lance Padilla, who placed third.

Round 2 points have a 1.5 multiplier. The third and final round with doubled points is slated to take place and will be broadcasted online on September 26, 2020. Those who are interested to participate in the said round can register at www.toyota.com.ph/gtcup. Accumulated points after the third round will determine the two national champions from both Sporting and Promotional classes who will represent the Philippines in the Asian Regional Championship of the 2020 GR Supra GT Cup Asia happening on October. Also representing the country will come from the Celebrity vs. Media class which is also set to be held this month.

The GR Supra GT Cup Asia Philippines is an expansion of Toyota Motor Philippines' slew of motorsport activities for the year headlines by the Vios Racing Festival (VRF). Unfortunately though, the 2020 edition of the VRF has been indefinitely postponed due to the continuing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic but that doesn't stop TMP from promoting the heart-pumping excitement of racing even in the most challenging times.
