Daang Dokyu opened this year's series of activities with "Never Again, Martial Law" featuring five films on Martial Law which were streamed from September 19-22 including Marcos: A Malignant Spirit, Imelda by Ramona Diaz, Alunsina by Kiri Dalena, A Rustling Of Leaves: Inside The Philippine Revolution by Nettie Wild, and Mendiola Massacre by Lito Tiongson. Those who have missed any of these Martial Law flicks can catch up since they are available anew for online streaming until November 5. This October, a week-long screening on ecology, "Ang Lahat Ng Bagay Ay Magkakaugnay", puts together various documentaries on individuals and communities in the face of calamities and tragedies, including the aforementioned three from GMA, which will run until October 8.
Meanwhile, from October 9 to 15, Daang Dokyu streams the "Perception Is Real, Truth Not" lineup of films that have defined and shaped the nation's imagination followed by the "Off The Record: Health And Identity" documentary lineup on October 16-22 which focuses on what are considered by the public eye as taboo topics. Shedding light on the Filipino concept is the lineup of documentary films under "Dagat Sa Pagitan" streaming on October 23-29. Wrapping up the centennial celebration of the Philippine documentary scene is the future-themed "Ganito Tayo Ngayon, Paano Sila Bukas?" lineup which offers a glimpse of exciting possibilities, challenges and explorations of new and unseen territories in documentary making.
An initiative of the Filipino Documentary Society (FilDocs) founded by renouned documentary filmmakers Jewel Maranan, Kara Aligpayo-Magsanoc, Baby Ruth Villarama and Coreen Jimenez, Daang Dokyu celebrates 100 years of documentary film making in the Philippines, features classic and contemporary works and gathers the country's community of documentarists for film and television as well as some of today's changemakers in education, culture and the arts. This year's edition is made possible through the support and partnership of the Office Of Congresswoman Loren Legarda, National Commission On Culture And The Arts (NCCA), UP Film Institute and Probe Media Foundation.
