Ride On The Frontlines With TV5's Newest Primetime Newscast

TV5 strengthens its commitment of upholding the highest possible standard of broadcast news reporting with the recent launch of its new primetime newscast "Frontline Pilipinas" covering the freshest and most relevant headlines locally and around the globe. The newscast is hosted by some of the country's outstanding multi-awarded broadcasters including Luchi Cruz-Valdes, Raffy Tulfo, Cheryl Cosim, Ed Lingao and Lourd De Veyra.

Known as the King of Public Service through his radio and television programs such as Wanted Sa Radyo and Idol In Action, Raffy Tulfo leads the Frontline Pilipinas desk. With over two decades of notable work that have helped people significantly, he is well-respected for his journalism work and for giving the voice to the voiceless. Joining him is Cheryl Cosim who was hailed as Best Female News Program Anchor in the 12th Gawad Tanglaw and Best Female TV Newscaster in the 21st KBP Golden Dove Awards. Meanwhile, renouned journalist Luchi Cruz-Valdes, who is admired for her exemplary display of drawing out stories and connecting with her subjects, will be leading one-on-one interviews with key people behind the country's biggest headlines. Throughout her career, Luchi has received legacy recognitions from award-giving bodies such as the PMPC Excellence In Broadcasting Lifetime Achievement Award, KBP Golden Dove Awards Broadcaster Of The Year, and Best Female Newscaster.

Veteran journalist Ed Lingao is best-known for his hard-hitting stories on conflict, war and politics and has been nominated for Best Documentary Program Host at the 27th PMPC Star Awards For TV. A two-time Marshall McLuhan fellow and the recipient of the top prize at the First Red Cross Humanitarian Reporting Awards, Lingao breaks down the biggest headlines in "News ExplainED" to help give context to the most pressing news and how it affects us. Finally, adding pop culture annotations and tongue-in-cheek humour to the show is Lourd De Veyra, three-time recipient of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature (1999, 2003, 2004), who will be giving timely commentaries in "Word Of The Lourd".

Frontline Pilipinas' rallying motto is, "maaasahang kasangga sa pagbabalita, boses ng may alam at may pakialam at mga balita't impormasyon dapat malaman." It airs Mondays to Fridays at 6:30 pm on TV5, your go-to station for the most complete and up-to-date news reports, with an encore at 8:00 pm on One PH on Cignal TV channel 1.
