GMA Network Inc., the largest broadcasting network in the Philippines, offers a beacon of new hope in 2021 as it ushers in the New Year with a stellar roster of exciting new programs. This was announced during Countdown To 2021: The GMA New Year's Celebration Special aired on the night of New Year's Eve, December 31, 2020.
Kickstarting the lineup for GMA's Afternoon Prime is the return of the high-rating soap "Magkaagaw" topbilled by Sunshine Dizon, Klea Pineda, Jeric Gonzales and Sheryl Cruz with a recap and fresh new episodes to ring in the New Year as well as those of "Bilangin Ang Bituin Sa Langit" featuring Ms. Nora Aunor, Mylene Dizon, Isabel Rivas, Zoren Legazpi, Kyline Alcantara and Yasser Marta. Next is the heart-tugging story of "Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat" starring John Estrada, Carmina Villaroel-Legazpi and Pauline Mendoza in her first lead role as a Kapuso drama actress as well as the return of the well-loved tandem of Ken Chan and Rita Daniela in the small screens via "Ang Dalawang Ikaw" which will be joined by Kapuso newcomer Ana Vicente.
Also set to launch on the network's weekday afternoon block in the coming months are the Philippine TV adaptation of the 1988 award-winning film "Nagbabagang Luha" starring Glaiza De Castro, Rayver Cruz, Claire Castro and Mike Tan; the riveting legal drama "Artikulo 247"; the multi-layered sibling rivalry of "Las Hermanas"; the weekly drama series "Love Connections" which tells the stories behind intriguing social media posts; and the story of a little person who one day discovers she is a heiress despite growing up in a poor family in "Little Princess".
On GMA Telebabad, the rivalry between best friends turned mortal enemies continues with a recap and fresh episodes of "Anak Ni Waray vs. Anak Ni Biday" starring Barbie Forteza, Kate Valdez, Migo Adecer, Snooky Serna, Dina Bonnevie and Jay Manalo. GMA Network's weekend programming lineup for the New Year is headlined by three anticipated returns: Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. in "Alamat Ng Agila", The Clash for its fourth season and the quest for the next kiddie singing sensation "Centerstage" hosted by Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards with Betong Sumaya.
