The Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) is set to roll out a new series of official tournaments featuring renouned titles developed by Epic Games all throughout 2021. In partnership with Globe Telecom and Mineski Philippines, the league will run official eSports tournaments for the first-person shooter (FPS) game Valorant and the mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game League Of Legends: Wild Rift in the Philippines. Through these intriguingly exciting tournaments, PPGL continues its thrust of becoming a stepping stone for the success of Filipino gamers in the international scene.

PPGL is set to open the new year with the 2021 Valorant Challengers, a national tournament that will serve as a qualification path for the best Filipino Valorant players towards the Valorant Masters where they will compete against the best from other countries in Southeast Asia. Serving as a kickoff to the Valorant Champions Tour, the 2021 PPGL Valorant Challengers will be divided into three splits with each split running three tournaments over the course of two weeks. Aside from taking home the lion's share of a Php1.5 million prize pool, the two top teams in the country will then advance to the Valorant Masters.

"We are excited to develop new gaming talent in the Philippines. As the largest multi-game eSports league in the country, we invite all gamers to find their home in the PPGL,"said Mineski Philippines country manager Mark Navarro. "In the years to come, we want to take pride in having one of our homegrown talents win it all in the international scene for Valorant and League Of Legends: Wild Rift," he added. The 2021 Valorant Challengers will be an all-online tournament for the first split in accordance to the implemented health and safety protocols currently being observed due to the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Registration is free and open to everyone from across the country until February.
