Smart Communications Inc. (Smart) continues its big push for 5G connectivity in the Philippines as it has expanded its Unli 5G offering to cover more Smart 5G areas nationwide. This unprecedented move enables more Filipinos to enjoy the telco's most powerful offering on its fastest technology yet. From its initial selected sites covering Metro Manila, Baguio City, Angeles City and Clark in Pampanga, Cavite City, Cebu City and Davao City, Smart's Unli 5G is now available at over 2,700 Smart 5G sites across different parts of the country including Batangas, Bacolod, Boracay, Cagayan De Oro, Laguna, Pampanga, Pangasinan and Quezon.
Smart subscribers should have a Smart 5G certified device and be in a Smart 5G covered area to make the most of Unli 5G. Fortunately, all Smart LTE SIMS are 5G-ready. With Unli 5G, subscribers can enjoy a superior and reliable 5G experience with absolutely no data capping or speed throttling. Unli 5G also comes with consumable data for non-5G use so customers can stay connected even when they move from a 5G-covered location to a non-5G covered area or switch between Smart 5G and Smart LTE. Smart's Unli 5G comes on the heels of the telco's recent award of having the fastest 5G network in the Philippines by internet testing and analysis firm Ookla. According to consumer-initiated test results using Ookla's SpeedTest, Smart has consistently posted the fastest 5G speeds for the first quarter of 2021, with median download speeds of 190 Mbps which is more than double the competition's speeds for the said period.
Smart subscribers can avail of Unli 5G exclusively on the GigaLife app, downloadable for free on Google Play and Apple App Store. They may simply log into the app, choose All Data, select Unli 5G and register to their preferred Unli 5G offer. Available Unli 5G offers include Unli 5G 299 valid for seven days plus 2 GB data for non-5G use, Unli 5G 599 valid for 30 days plus 12 GB data for non-5G use and Unli 5G 799 valid for 30 days plus 24 GB data for non-5G use. To guide customers, the GigaLife app also features an interactive map showing locations around the country where Smart 5G is available.
Smart continues to expand its 5G network which is now the most extended in the country. In fact, its 5G outdoor coverage in the National Capital Region (NCR) is now more than 90%.
