It has been a norm for mobile brands in the Philippines to promote
their new products through tech blogs, promotional materials, press releases
and others related thereof. But there is one exception that is slated to live
up beyond its own hype.
During the highly-anticipated 11th Star Magic Ball, OPPO Philippines
officially launched its newest selfie-centric smartphone, the OPPO F5, unbeknownst
to the tech-savvy and even selfie lovers who have surprisingly learned about it.
Although it is yet to be launched on October 26, 2017, it would look like the
surprise is not enough to make consumers anticipate for the new marvel. However,
it didn't stop there.
Have you seen advertisements of the OPPO F5 lately when you went to SM
Megamall? If not, then you should check out selfies from various Star Magic
artists using the smartphone or a beauty tutorial video from ABS-CBN Lifestyle and
Metro Magazine where the F5 is featured. It seems that OPPO is not keen on
providing details on the new phone; instead, it lets local celebrities to do
the promotion for it. And you know, it did work and brings up beyond anyone's hype.
OPPO's own strategy on the F5 seems to be uniquely bizaare compared to
that of local and international brands with celebrities as their brand
ambassadors. Yet it may bring not only well-known star power to the people but
also the phone itself. Maybe we will find out more about the F5 when it hits
stores nationwide when it is launched regardless of the rumors spreading
around. Nevertheless, it looks like the OPPO F5 is one smartphone that any selfie-loving
consumer should not belittle.
