The long holiday season in the Philippines has already began and SM
Cinema is kicking off the season with some Halloween spooks and brews up some spine-tingling
activities as another year of creepy decorations and trick-or-treating ushers
in. With that in mind, here are some frightfully awesome things that moviegoers
can look forward to at all SM Cinemas nationwide on October and November 2019.
Joker
Following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival in Italy, this
unique and gritty take on the iconic DC Comics villain has set the bar high for
movie buffs and fans of the character after receiving mostly positive reviews
and wide critical acclaim. The movie follows Arthur Fleck, a failed stand-up
comedian and a man disregarded by society who turns to a life of instilling
chaos in Gotham City. SM Cinema is set to hold an advanced screening of Joker
on September 30 at IMAX SM Aura Premier.
Disney's Maleficent 2:
Mistress of Evil
As part of its continuing efforts to incorporate inclusivity in their
reel to real premise, SM Cinema is holding an interactive exhibit on October
8-16 at S' Maison and on October 17-23 at SM Southmall with the arrival of
Maleficent 2: Mistress of Evil. The installation will use Braille to allow the children,
including the visually impaired, to enjoy the movie experience. Maleficent 2
will be shown in SM Cinemas nationwide starting October 16th.
Zombieland 2: Double Tap
The star-studded sequel to the comedy action-thriller Zombieland is
coming to SM Cinemas for more zombie-killing action. Double Tap follows the
makeshift family composed of Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock
(not their real names to be exact) as they are faced with more elusive and
evolved zombies, fellow survivors and the growing pains that come within their
little dysfunctional family. SM Cinema will host its advanced screening on
October 21st at SM Megamall.
Sine Sindak Film Festival (*picture above)
SM Cinema's week-long horrifying film fest makes its return for a
second time with four thrilling flicks that will be shown on October 23-29,
2019 namely Only Mom, Hex, Look Away and Door Luck which would surely scare the
bones out of moviegoers. To add more excitement and fun to the scare fest, SM Cinema
will give away special prizes to moviegoers coming with their best Halloween
costume yet.
Concert Films And Local
Flicks
Want to kick off the holiday season fright-free? Well, SM Cinema has two
one-night only concert films that will be exclusively showing in selected theaters
- Shakira on November 9 and Metallica with San Francisco Symphony 2 on November
16. For die-hard fans of Pinoy romantic films, Black Sheep's Isa Pa With Feelings
starring Maine Mendoza and Carlo Aquino and Viva Films' Unforgettable starring
Sarah Geronimo will have their respective red-carpet premieres at SM Megamall
on October 15 and 21 where fans can get a glimpse of their favorite stars. Isa
Pa With Feelings opens on October 16 while Unforgettable will be shown beginning
