eSports AcadArena, a national initiative established to promote competitive gaming around various campuses in the Philippines, and Globe Telecom, the premiere purveyor of the Filipino digital lifestyle, has forged a milestone partnership with one of the world's most relevant eSports game publishers to date that will further develop student-led and student-focused gaming initiatives in the country.

Its partnership with Riot Games Southeast Asia - developers of hit professional gaming titles League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, and VALORANT - puts steam in AcadArena and Globe's movement in the local eSports scene coming off the heels of recent major advancements in campus eSports activities such as the eSports merit scholarship program for aspiring student-gamers. Kicking off the historic AcadArena-Riot Games SEA partnership is the inclusion of VALORANT in the University Alliance Cup (UAC) where competing students battle it out not only for the insane prize pool of more than Php500,000, but also for the opportunity to represent the Philippines in the 2020 PVP eSports Campus Championships on December 12-13, 2020.

The University Alliance Cup comprises of members of the AcadArena Alliance, a national network of accredited student eSports organizations across the country. Alliance members receive funding, training and support from AcadArena for the establishment of their campus eSports ecosystems. In addition to VALORANT's inclusion, League of Legends: Wild Rift is expected to be part of the UAC in the forthcoming season while Legends of Runeterra will be a regularly featured game in AcadArena's series of weekly community events.
