In 2020, Globe Telecom's Virtual Hangouts brought together pop culture fans from different parts of the country and various walks of life from within the safe comforts of their own home through online music festivals and concerts, a youth summit, K-fan meets, and an eSports tournament. What can they expect from Virtual Hangouts this 2021? Well, last February 18, Globe provided a virtual 360-degree view of the reinventions that it will bring to GoJAM, GoCAMPUS, GoKOREAN and GoESPORTS throughout the year to guests through the use of VR goggles.
Continuing the success of last year's GoJAM Live, Globe has partnered with Karpos Live to bring a series of concerts featuring local and international acts such as Paradise Rising's Jason Dhakal, Claudia Barretto, Leanne and Neara, and more. Paradise Rising is a music collective born out of the partnership between Globe and 88 Rising that aims to bring Asian artists to the forefront through music. Reinvented musical experiences are also underway as GoJAM brings immersive new experiences including virtual 360-degree concerts and "choose your own adventure" style interviews. GoCAMPUS brings another youth summit, entitled "Future Reinvented", to more schools across the country as well as the 5G Hackathon where students will be challenged to put theory into practice by developing real-life applications of 5G technology. With these events, GoCAMPUS is looking forward to reinventing school and learning experiences for students and empowering them to eventually bring their real-world applications of 5G technology to life in society, industries and smart cities.
On the other hand, GoKOREAN is set to stage a Kmmunity Fest where K-pop fans can meet and interact with other K-pop fans and celebrate anything and everything Korean. The event will be streamed soon on SHOOR, UPSTREAM.PH, VLive and VLive+. With GoKOREAN, fans can also participate in more interactive activities, such as a design-your-own cup sleeves as a way to celebrate the birthdays of BLACKPINK members, to fully immerse in the Korean pop culture scene and show their support to their idols. With its recently forged partnership with Riot Games Southeast Asia, Globe is opening new opportunities for local gaming and eSports enthusiasts by giving them access to games such as VALORANT and League Of Legends: Wild Rift and, most especially, to several major eSports tournaments that will be shown soon on GoESPORTS.
Any of these upcoming events and more on Virtual Hangouts can be accessed via the GlobeOne app. On the app, just tap the Virtual Hangouts tab to view the events and join in.
